WTP Mismanagement: Facts Over Fiction

Dear Residents,

Recent updates regarding the Water Treatment Plant (WTP Mismanagement) highlight serious concerns about misinformation, unnecessary delays, and unjustified costs. Here are the facts:

1. Media Filter Replacement: Budgeted Yet Mismanaged

  • Media filter replacements for WTP and STP were already included in the previous budget. The Arokk team planned the work but was delayed by rain and elections. Despite this, the current team is now demanding higher amounts without justification.
  • This raises a serious question: Why are residents being asked to pay again for something already budgeted?

2. Equipment Misrepresentation

  • The secondary pressure tank was not used since Casagrand period and it was handed over by CG to 2022 to 2023 management committee; the previous team did not inspected before taking the handover form CG. Claims of immediate repairs appear to inflate costs.
  • Additionally, inaccurate claims about the conditioner being more than two years old were made. The conditioner was installed only in mid of 2023 (May/June 2023). These misrepresentations create confusion rather than solutions.

3. Tank Cleaning Claims

  • All four WTP tanks are regularly cleaned during each cycle. However, false claims about tank neglect have been made without consulting the Arokk team. These baseless claims only spread unnecessary panic among residents.

Residents Need Accountability

Before making any payments, residents deserve:

  1. A detailed explanation of why budgeted items like media filters need new funding.
  2. Transparent verification of equipment condition to avoid inflated costs.
  3. Clarifications on false claims about tank cleaning and equipment.

The focus must be on real solutions, not creating confusion or justifying unnecessary expenses. Residents should demand accountability to ensure fair use of community funds. Let’s prioritize facts and transparency over blame games.
