Broken Promises and Rising Costs: Is the New Team Letting the Community Down?

Dear Residents,

The current financial situation in our community has raised serious concerns, with widespread dissatisfaction over the additional fund requests by the newly elected management team. Upon reviewing the financial updates and recent developments, it is evident that several key issues require accountability and explanation.

Key Concerns Raised by Residents:

  1. Unbudgeted Expenses and Poor Financial Planning:
    • Over ₹30 lakhs in non-budgeted expenses have been reported, including significant overspending on lorry water, STP/WTP maintenance, and diesel.
    • Why wasn’t this overspending highlighted earlier? The current management team has had over a month to audit and manage finances—why hasn’t there been proactive planning? Focusing solely on pressuring defaulters while burdening prompt payers will likely exacerbate the situation. Instead, the team should prioritize strategies that promote financial stability without imposing additional strain on residents.
  2. Ineffective Recovery of Pending Dues:
    • ₹7 to ₹9 lakhs remain unrecovered from shop rentals and other defaulters. Why hasn’t this been prioritized instead of burdening prompt-paying residents?
    • Residents are questioning why the current team is failing to address these pending dues while imposing new financial demands on compliant residents.
  3. Waste Mismanagement and Safety Concerns:
    • Reports of parking areas filled with waste and discarded materials have caused concerns about health and safety, with snakes and rats becoming a frequent sight.
    • These issues were under control during the tenure of the previous OBs. Why hasn’t the new team taken proactive measures to address this and ensure cleanliness?
  4. Contradictions and Lack of Transparency:
    • The financial breakdown shared by the management is riddled with contradictions and discrepancies. Lawyer charges and miscellaneous expenses remain unexplained, leaving residents in the dark about how their money is being used.
    • Why hasn’t there been a detailed audit shared with residents? What is the justification for such overspending?
  5. Unfair Fund Collection:
    • The sudden demand for additional funds has left residents shocked, with many questioning the current team’s ability to manage finances effectively.
    • Why weren’t these issues addressed earlier? Was this financial mismanagement deliberately hidden to avoid scrutiny?

The Bigger Question:
The current management team took over just over a month ago, yet they’ve failed to implement solutions or streamline finances. Why were these unbudgeted expenses not addressed earlier? The previous OBs ensured transparency and efficiency—why is the new team failing to follow through?

Residents deserve clarity, action, and fair practices. It is unacceptable for the current team to impose additional burdens without addressing the root causes of financial mismanagement. What concrete steps will they take to resolve these issues?

Let the current management provide answers, take accountability, and stop blaming others for their inefficiencies. Residents are watching closely, and the onus is now on the current team to prove their capability—or lack thereof.
