The recent updates regarding the road and pipe-laying work highlight significant progress in addressing our long-standing infrastructure challenges. The current management team shared that 80% of the road work has been completed, with WMM leveling in place. However, this milestone is part of a larger journey involving the efforts of both past and present leadership, residents, and local authorities.

Progress in Temporary Solutions

  • Pipe Laying Work: Initiated two days ago, this essential work is aimed at improving water flow management and addressing drainage issues.
  • Road Laying: 80% of the road-laying work is complete, promising smoother commutes once finalized. Despite temporary inconveniences, the community remains united in its commitment to a better future.

The management team expressed their gratitude to residents for their patience, stating, “Today’s inconvenience is for a better tomorrow.”

Permanent Fix: A Legacy of Previous OBs

Efforts to secure a permanent solution were initiated under the leadership of the previous office bearers (OBs), whose proactive engagement with government officials and community leaders set the groundwork for long-term improvements. Here’s a detailed account of their initiatives:

Involvement of SDMA Official:
Dr. Muruganantham from the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) reviewed the situation and requested the BDO to propose a permanent solution based on the evidence provided.

Coordination with Authorities:
The BDO consulted with the Thalambur and Navalur thalaivars, recommending a meeting with Chengalpattu Highways AD, Mr. Lenin, and Revenue Inspector Ms. Bindhu.

Proposed Permanent Solution:
During the meeting, Mr. Lenin suggested that the only viable long-term solution is to construct a 1 km culvert due to the absence of a proper drainage system in the area.

    • Both thalambur and navalur thalaivars agreed to submit petitions at the Chengalpattu Highway Office and ensure rigorous follow-ups.
    • Siruseri Thalaivar also joined the discussions, reinforcing the collaborative effort.

Temporary Measures:
Until the culvert is constructed, Thalambur Thalaivar committed to removing blockages to provide some immediate relief.

Next Steps:
The permanent solution requires allocation in the next financial year’s budget. Rigorous follow-ups through the Thalaivars and community petitions will be crucial to securing approval.

Acknowledging Collective Contributions

This progress is the result of collaborative efforts:

Previous Office Bearers: Initiated meetings, advocated for permanent solutions, and laid the foundation for addressing these critical issues.

Current Management: Continued these efforts to ensure progress remains a priority.

Community Unity: From protests to petitions, residents have played a vital role in bringing attention to these challenges.

Final Thoughts: A Path Forward

While temporary solutions like road leveling and blockage removal are underway, the permanent fix—a 1 km culvert—represents the long-term vision needed for sustainable improvement. This construction will require continued advocacy, collaboration with local authorities, and community follow-ups.

This journey is a testament to what we can achieve when past and present leadership, along with residents, work together for the greater good. Let’s continue this united effort to build a stronger, more resilient Casagrand Supremus.

“Together, we can overcome any challenge and ensure a better future for our community.”
